"Yeni- mosque"


The name of this mosque in Turkish means "a new mosque". It is located in the center of the city. It has squared base with a dome on the top. Near the mosque there is a 40 meters high minaret. Today, the rooms of the mosque are used for exhibition needs. The latest archeological excavations discovered that this mosque was built on an old church in 1558/59. The mosque with its appearance is one of the most valuable buildings in Bitola.


"Ishak mosque"


The mosque is a heritage from the famous Turk Ishak Chelebi. In its large yard there  are several tombs, specific because they have subtle  forms of the sarcophaguses. The Mosque was built in 1506, and it is one of the oldest preserved mosques in Bitola, It has minaret  50 meters high. To visit the mosque you must get permission from the Islamic community in Bitola.


"Ajdar- Cadi mosque "


"Ajdar - Cadi Mosque"  is one of the most attractive monuments of the Islamic architecture in Bitola. It was built in the period from 1561 to 1562, as  project of the famous architect Mimar Sinan. The construction of the mosque was ordered  by Ajdar - Cadi, and that,s why today the mosque bears his name. Over the centuries, the mosque was hardly damaged, but it was restored and returned to the old appearance.



"Bazaar Mosque"

The mosque is monument of culture preserved by the state. It was built in the second half of the 15th century and it is the only mosque in Europe with two balconies on one minaret. Today, the mosque is still waiting on its reconstruction.


"Hadji-ramadan's mosque"


The mosque was built buy the turkish Bey Hadji-Ramadan in 1592. It has been renewed several times and its appearance (so called- opus cloisine) is preserved completely.
